I got my Black 30GB iPod Video on Christmas 2005, it was one of the last ones in stock, too bad in 2007 I got it robbed, Hope that fucker dies in a horrible death

@AwesomeCoasters Well perhaps it's a bad piece or something. I believe that the old 160GB was different. Than they only had the 120GB and then replaced it by the 160GB, which exactly the same size (have the new one BTW) Back to the point, it's a high pitched sound indeed, but I don't find it that loud or annoying. And I can hear frequencies my 13yo sister can't.

Okay, it's the same thing as you then. Mine is the new 160GB I guess (are there really two different iterations?). Then maybe I personnally couldn't stand the little high-pitched noise but you can.

@AwesomeCoasters Wow. And is it the new one or the old 160GB? Because mine I can only hear with headphones on when it's absolutely quiet and the volume is below 40%. Even without headphones, it's really quiet (and I have very good hearing) and it happens only when I select album and once in like 10 songs. I don't even notice it most of the time.

From my iPod, I could hear the whistling noise coming through my headphones and it happened a lot of the time when I navigated my files. Just imagine now...
