  • she's always better on her piano :)

her playing on the piano brings out the best of her solemn voice :)

    nice nice

  • i am really glad they made a studio version of this with her. I think people were too harsh on her at the live performance. Sure she messed up the piano but the competition is about her voice not how well she plays her instrument each show. And when she messed up on the piano her voice stilled sounded amazing

ok you win, I lost hehe...jk.

I see your point too, respectfully.

  • @zzzthaoster I never said it's crazy. i just pointed out that because of that, this song's lyrics are about stalking/borderline-stalking and not just a mere impression of emotions. I mean, yes it can be put down to that but that is not all there is to it.

  • @VampireOutlaw

even so, Im sure most us have done that before one time or another towards somebody in our lives. So it's not that crazy.

  • @zzzthaoster The point is that he was subconsciously stalking her. It's enough to make the outcome a song about stalking. He doesn't have to actually end up doing it practically himself to make the song so.

  • @VampireOutlaw

yeah but Im sure he doesn't go around stalking her like parking his car behind the bushes just to look at her haha. It's just about still having strong emotions/feelings for somebody even after you've broken up with them, it's something pretty normal and natural.

  • lyrics wrong!

  • When I was a kid, every time I heard the original The Police version of the song, I was unsettled even though I had no idea what thelyrics were about, I mean I wasn't old enough to draw those conclusions. That goes saying these lyrics are indeed very sinister. As a teen I connected the lyrics to stalking, and I wasn't surprised at all when as an adult when I learned that this indeed is a song that was written in a stalky state of mind.

  • @zzzthaoster Not literally, but still it is. Even Sting himself says so: "It sounds like a comforting love song. I didn't realize at the time how sinister it is. I think I was thinking of Big Brother, surveillance and control." and also "Sting later said he was disconcerted by how many people think the song is more positive than it is. He insists it's about the obsession with a lost lover, the jealousy and surveillance that follows." Hmmm? Hence, stalking!

  • @VampireOutlaw

it's not about stalking, it's about broken up and broken hearts...it's just an expression towards somebody. It's not about literally stalking somebody, get with the idea of the song.

  • Always great to hear a super, natural voice, I just love it.
