This a simple 2 band vfo by G4OEP which uses an Si-570 programmable crystal oscillator. It caught my eye since it is small and could be used as a second signal generator for doing imd measurements, when needed, as well as a vfo. In this video it is programmed for 15 and 20 meters using an IF of 5.07 for use with the ssb crystal filter made from a Parts and Kits board. My VFO is putting out about +10 dbm into a parts and kits mixer.
While tuning the vfo makes a lttle ticking noise but not enough to be worried about.
This video was made with an iPhone 4s and edited with PowerDirector from CyberLink. This is the first time I''ve tried either one.
*if this video sounds a little incoherent, it's because I can't walk and chew gum :)

  • Do you have the firmware for the controller?....He has some .asm files listed but no compiled code....

  • @schoolmaster1945

The .asm files are necessary because you need to alter 'Setup.asm' to put in your IF added to the lower band edge frequency (and other info). The default is for an IF of 10MHz plus 3.5 or 7Mhz. I used MPLAB and had no problem.
