Commuting in the HOV lane on the Northbound 405 just before the 10 freeway during evening rush hour traffic in a MonoTracer. When the freeway becomes gridlocked as it always does in this area, the MonoTracer can opt to lane split helping to reduce congestion, fuel consumption, and emissions.

Lane splitting supporters also state that the US DOT FARS database shows that fatalities from rear end collisions into motorcycles are 30% lower in California than in Florida or Texas, states with similar riding seasons and populations but which do not permit lane splitting.

  • Enclosed two wheeled vehicles.. assuming the oil companies and government doesn't stop them, they will be the next major craze in transport in the USA. I'd buy and use one if it were comparable in cost to the automobiles on the market.

  • That would be the ideal taxi for businesspeople who has to rush from citycenter to the airport or from the outskirts to the center with light luggage only. Faster than any cabbie.

  • This would save so much time during rush hour. It would be nice if other states would allow lane splitting like California. It was nice to show at the end of the video two regular motorcycles doing the same thing. This would lessen congestion if more people would ride a motorcycle when possible or if you can afford a Monotracer do this all the time.
