If many of the Pastors of the UPCI would go to the General HQ in Hazelwood and go through the archives there they would be shocked. Many of the pioneering ministers of the UPCI including Bro. Goss had facial hair. Now, I'm not saying everyman should go out and grow a beard but let's face it, it is one of the characteristics that separates us from women. Most women do not have facial hair and cannot grow it, yes there are exceptions. But to preach it is a sin is not Biblical.

@SECumberbatch I think the issue is in this, the pentecostal church preaches against beards. Not because it's biblical, but because of culteral issues. A beard is not what is gonna determine what saves you. How you live your life however, does. I will say this, within the UPC church there is a problem with a condemning spirit based on things that are not biblical. They become a stumbling block to those that want to walk with God but find it hard to live up to peoples expectations.

I am UPCI and i dont get what the big deal is. Yes a lot of pastors teach against having facial hair, so what? Its not like the force you to do something that you dont want to. and if you shave only because youre being told to its for the wrong reason. If you have a personal conviction that it is wrong and you dont, then yes its wrong. there are actually many UPCI churches that dont teach this to be 'wrong'

Why is there a discussion about Jesus having a beard. I listened to the whole ministry by the Pastor as I thought that he mentioned that Jesus did not have a beard. I agree that this is not the 'saving grace' issue but it is clear from scripture that he had a beard. It is only after reading the comments that I noticed that none of the men on the platform (ministering) at POA have beards. I read that someone shaved his beard when he attended POA but now has let it grow because he has left, Why!?

@setexcowboy Jesus had a beard because the scripture says that He did and that He does. Too, bad that He would be shunned by the good old boy "Pastors" of UPCI. There isn't a man among UPCI "Pastors" today. They are all a bunch of spineless wimps. You should study your Bible a bit then you would know that Jesus has a beard.  HEY, UPCI "Pastors, REPENT WHILE THERE IS YET TIME!

@thechessstick You must be a backslider or you have something against the UPCI...How do any of us know if Jesus had a beard, we were not there when he walked on the Earth. And on the other hand the man may not be "in church", he might have been asked to came as a guest. Besides the issue is not the beard is it? Because if it is an issue to you, you are shallow!!!

@setexcowboy Actually, change amongst UPCI "Pastors" will not come. They are too caught up in themselves, comparing themselves amongst themselves. I wish that they would be more like Jesus. Jesus had and has a beard.
