  • This show was just three days after I saw Elvis! This is excellent, and people should note how good he looks. He NEVER got as heavy as some people seem to think.

  • Elvis is lookin' pretty lean here. If anyone hasn't heard the concerts the last week of December '76, they are missing out. Elvis was ON FIRE during those shows.

I agree,,,Joe really had Elvis' best interests in mind. He did what he could.

  • @bloodredvinyl Well...he was certainly heavier in '75 than he was here, for sure. Also, he gained back quite a bit of the weight he'd lost by mid-'77 -- but I still say not as much as he weighed in '75.

  • Rockin' track!

  • Great footage of Elvis, shame there is no sound from the concert. The music that goes with this video is a horrible noise.

No, you're right. Joe had Elvis' best interests in mind for sure. But sometimes, he just acted without thinking first. That's all.

  • @Phoenix7878 Not always, the behavior of Joe Esposito, was friendly toward Elvis...

  • Concerning the book, sometime in August '76 Elvis found out about it. (Numb nuts Joe Esposito picked the absolute worst time to tell him.....right before a concert.)

Regardless of the mistakes & errors made concerning the whole bodyguard issue, that book from the start had REVENGE written all over it. (His dad Vernon made this situation a mess, not Elvis.) Unfortunately, between that & the CBS Special, Elvis finally crumbled. That book was something Elvis just wasn't able to handle. BASTARDS

Generally, you make some great points. However, the reason for the weight loss as well as the energy & overall good mood of his were 2 fold. 1 being that at this time, his chronic & extremely painful twisted colon had managed to correct itself with treatment avoiding surgery. But, it didn't last long. This alone made him feel like a new man. But, it was also around this time he met Ginger Alden. Bottom line he was, for a short while, relatively happy again.

  • All in all, it's a good film.
