  • Will this method work even if I'm the weaker person? Imagine that girl holding the mitts for you... That's me holding mitts for my friend. He only uses me when he hasn't been to the boxing gym, but some fingers on my right hand can't open all the way afterwards. Is my technique simply bad, or do I also need to be at least about as muscular as him?

  • @soridosuneku Sorry for the delay. Size does count for pad holding, but technique counts more. Sammy (the girl) has held for me in class and I’ve held for some big bad heavyweights 50% bigger than me. Try this: 1: Keep elbows in tight, use your core. 2: Really learn the pad positions right – leave me your email and I’ll send you a cheat sheet. 3. Make him? Wear boxing gloves (not bag gloves)

  • That's stupid. Why would you throw the pad to the person's hand? Nobodys gonna throw their head to you. Your suppose to throw your punch the target. Not tge other way around. Secondly you could hurt the persons wrist. Giving the client a false sense of security by thinking they're punching correct.

  • @jlq74 You're right. And that's exactly the point of the clip...don't whack with the pads.

  • Cool video it looks similar to our video check it out

  • Are you a whacker? Lmao!

  • @jlq74 This is exactly the correct way to feed pads to somebody, you don't exactly throw the pad to the strikers hand, remember, they are also throwing punches out. The point at which the punch meets the pad is where your striker is visualising his opponents head. I wish more attention was paid to how to feed pads correctly as I hate training with instructors who hold their pads statically about 2 feet apart from each other and expect you to throw a jab and cross combo at two different locations

  • My coach has been in boxing 25 years as a fighter and now a trainer... he catches and also "wacks" as you say. Mostly catching on a speed and counter pad work.. but when doing a power on the pads he loads up as much as the fighter...

  • @jlq74

    lol

  • took me a month or so to learn this
