A double drum steam hoist built by Hulshizer & Larzelere in 1882 is returned to steam after being abandoned for at least 26 years. It was built in Doylestown, PA, and operated at a slate quarry in Pen Argyl, PA. It is now at Rough and Tumble (Engineers Historical Association).
What I find impressive about these machines is that they were designed and built before computers, autocad, CNC milling machines, back when people did with their brains and hands!
