Thas an 89 squier which were made by sammick and have really good quality. Squiers in general actually do play fairly well, they will last you at least till you start putting out some CDs and dong performances. If your not going to be getting above that (so basicaly if your not planning to make playing guitar your entire living) then it will be better than you need it to be. The reason squier has such a bad name is because they are cheap so ppl who cant play get them and make them sound bad
