Won't debate whether Houston Ballet "is better" than "the New York companies" (meaning ABT and City Ballet) the reality is Houston Ballet "doesn't matter"..... meaning in the world of ballet ABT and City Ballet represent American ballet just as Royal Ballet IS British ballet and Paris Opera Ballet IS French Ballet and Bolshoi and Kirov ARE Russian ballet.... and outside of ABT and City Ballet, other American companies "simply don't matter".
