@1609Richie Ramstein is not really a part of Kaiserslautern. It is another town in the same "county". Remember the signs saying Kreis Kaiserslautern? Kreis is roughly equivalent to our county. Hohenecken, Vogelweh, Siegelbach, and such are suburbs or Stadtteilen of Kaiserslautern.

You are heading in the direction of Hohenecken. No, the other side is not dangerous, in fact it is more of the same... lovely trails and nature and the castle ruins. There are small foot paths cutting across the tracks but you have to look for them. you are crawling all over my jogging trails LOL.

Lived in K-Town in 71-75. Loved it. The place looks the same. The Jr.High and High School are just as I left them .lol Left when I was 15 and moved back to Ft. Hood Texas.That was 35 yrs ago.

TheOmagrace1 - the only thing I regret not seeing on my visit was Hohnecken Castle...ran out of time. But I remember the story I was told when I was little saying there was a woman who had to throw her baby into the river and if you go up there at night, you could hear her saying "Where's my baby...Where's my baby?!!"
