The Virus of Faith - The Root of All Evil - Channel 4

"The Virus of Faith", Dawkins opines that the moral framework of religions is warped, and argues against the religious indoctrination of children. The title of this episode comes from The Selfish Gene, in which Dawkins discussed the concept of memes.

  • @2011Awakened You might have a point about Dawkins if he hadn't grown up being a good christian. When he went to college and expanded his intelligence he learned the difference between fact and fiction.

  • Are you kidding? What a talented scientist at taking things out of context. He's the one pushing his beliefs. I don't FORCE my kids to go to church. They go because they WANT to go, and it makes them happy. They serve in the youth ministry. Dawkins is just a bitter, disinformed wanna-be. He only sells his negative ideas. Maybe he should ISOLATE himself and read the Bible. God gives us FREE WILL. You either choose eternity in heaven or eternity in hell. That's it. Not that confusing. Wake up...

  • Thanks for the upload.

  • START THINKING!!!!

  • Religion poisons the mind.

  • I want Richard Dawkins to debate with Dr Zakir Naik, if he dare too.

  • @Coleaptera You got off pretty easy. I went to public schools where we had to participate in Christian holidays & some Jewish ones (the 30th anniversary of Israel). There were instances in the 1990s & early 2000s of Jewish kids getting kicked out of public school for refusing to sing Christmas carols & non Christians expelled for violating the anti-gang dress code in Detroit. They wore non Christian symbols.

  • tragic but true !!!

  • This Richard Dawkins guy is really interesting. He is more one-sided than I am, but I still agree with him on the weaknesses of religion. The main weakness is lack of evidence and a falure to produce good morals. The psychology aspect was fascinating and disturbing. I'm thankful that I was broght up in an American public school system, where promoting religion is illegal. I'm thankful I did not learn a lot about Christianity untill I was a teenager. I havenot caught a serious case of infection.
