@jimsnodgras I would like to say now, that I am not religious at all, and often find myself skeptical of divine intelligence. Be that as it may, I would still feel incomplete if religion was vastly abolished. Religion or Spirituality is simply the explanation of a purpose in an existence so large that we barely register as significant. If faith means that we can live in bliss, rejoice and revel about it, then I would take that over the burden of clairvoyance any day of my life. Nothing's perfect

Just thought I'd let you know one of your slides says "Anyone a good command of the English language"
I don't normally nitpick but the irony made me smile :-)

Its a decent argument, but it's a little intrusive to "cure" people of something that makes them happy. The only problems I find with religion is it's own intrusiveness, limitations, and threats of eternal misery.

@HalcyonHuman Thank, I'm glad you think it is a decent argument.
I put religion in the same category as things like heroin. Sure it makes people feel good, but is it really good for them? Is it beneficial in the long run to believe in a fantasy? Why? And isn't it harmful sometimes? Think about all of the intrusions the homosexual community has to deal with in their private lives. How much further ahead could we be in stem-cell research w/o religious interference.

@jimsnodgras I don't think religious people are manic, at least not all of them. Religion can be beneficial, and it can be oppressive. It motivates people, encourages them, gives them confidence, and can make others more peaceful. However, it can also be restricting, morally awkward, and offensive. I agree with you on a collection of points, and that faiths can interrupt positive progress, but I firmly believe that religion was to be a base for leading a happy life. Despite its flaws.

I'll have to disagree with you on that point. I agree much more with James Randi on something like that. Seeing the world as clearly and w/o having any false premises is the way to go. The harm caused by religion is demonstrable and wouldn't exist with out it. Meanwhile people can still do good things without religion/false beliefs.
