Great Song. A Holland- Dozier- Holland Masterpiece. I Just Don't Know Why This Has Been Overlooked. It's Marvelous.

  • I love it!! Music that has meaning...Music today has no meaning what so ever. I don't feel todays music in my soul.......I feel what Diana is saying what she singing about, I feel it all hrough my bones and my soul. Only oldies music can do that to me because it has feeling!

  • It's amazing how vocally versatile the girls were back in the day. They were truly trendsetters. I wish i was around to see them perform live. Truly history in the making!

  • I remember buying the record, but I was very upset about Florence being replaced and that DID affect the sales. There was a lot of confusion at that time.

  • THis was also something of a transition recording. It was their last one that was produced by Holland-Dozier-Holland, and the last one that had Florence Ballad. Their later albums were produced more in Los Angeles.

  • xxx

  • It was HDH's masterpiece. Everyone was shocked it did not sell more records than it did .

  • @kentragin an absolute treasure! It should've charted better than it did. But, it was released at a very transitional period for the Supremes. By now it was common knowledge that Cindy was in the Supremes and not Flo, and Holland Dozier Holland were gone. I think these things played a big part in the songs reception rather than the quality of the song.

  • @proverbs1824 Infact, with the exception of live albums, specialty album (like the Funny Girl lp) and those recorded with the Temptations, many of the subsequent albums released by the Supremes contained some songs that were recorded with Florence. The songs were shelved until they were used as album filler on lp's such as Let the Sunshine In and Cream of the Crop. The Love Child album being the exception (Mary, Cindy, and the Andantes sang on this lp).

  • @TheAudivisioner Actually, some of the songs were recorded with Florence, some with Cindy Birdsong, and some with The Andantes.

  • Thanks for the memory of the song AND "Burger Chef." BRIAN
