After an engine fire caused by issues with an insanely bad ground and damage done in the past by mice to the wiring harness, this car almost met it's fate. It's an original 70' 914 1.7L nearly untouched over the years and a survivor. Thanks to countless hours of rewiring the harness from scratch, attempting to decipher stupid wiring diagrams, and a multimeter and a lot of booze.... it's back in business and still surviving.
Posting this since a lot of people didn't believe that it was running again :P Hah!
Saweet.. congrats! started right up too.. idling well. Nice job!

@DoctaM3 Sorry for the late reply. The car is still struggling with a few oddities in the idling, it starts great, runs great, but it seems to be running very rich, so if it idles for too long it'll die, at regular rpms it runs fine, it's a bit strange. Aside from that, I am very happy to have it back on the road :) I took it racing to an autox in June of this year to let it go stretch it's legs.
To all else who commented, thanks for the kind compliments :) It's nice to have it running.
