Liquid light can be mixed to create pure white light. In the premiere episode, "lightstick juice" is used to demonstrate how red, green, and blue light can be mixed to create white light. All it takes is a few colored light sticks, a knife, and a paper towel...

  • Cool vid.. But, how can you " color " light..??

  • @SYLICAP Well, you don't... I didn't mean to imply you could. Each color light is a specific frequency (or energy) and if you see more than one kind of light at the same time it will appear to be another color... if you see red green and blue light all at once it will register to your brain as "white" light. You could use filters and then only let the green light back through again, I suppose to show that the green light is only one part of the white light you see.

  • Would you get the same effect from mixing Glow In The Dark paint?

  • @WTFROFLWHAT Not really, well I suppose if you had good red, green, and blue glow-in-the-dark colored paint and charged it up real well with light... then mixed it, it should work in theory...

  • These are the normal sized glowsticks (not glow-bracelets)... I didn't add any liquid (but some things were filmed in close-up...)

  • Should have mixed a little bit of red and a little bit of blue to make pink.

  • Light or paint? Red + blue paint make purple paint, but red + blue light make magenta.

  • @sciencetheater aha.. I understand now, thnx..

  • @lamemo123456789 If you mix different ratios of each color you can get all the colors of the rainbow... but if you mix all of each color you will get white

  • Did you add water or just more glowstick to get that good amount of liquid?

  • cool... white light = colours of a rainbow

  • THAT IS AWSOME
