@Reloaded211 small update: i'm now using KDE on Ubuntu 11.04. It runs ok, better than Gnome and you know i'm a KDE guy, and cannot be converted for good :-) .
Looking forward to the developments you described... . Thanks for sharing!
@realbolwa Funny enough, KDE 4.7.4 now is WAY better than GNOME 3 and most certainly better and more stable than KDE two years ago. If that doesn't seem to be a big deal, wait until Qt 5.0 comes out this year because it will use OpenGL for widget rendering, thus boosting desktop responsiveness like 10x. Everything on Linux is developing so fast a year is like three years in Windows world.
KDE 4 sucks so big its really hard to imagine. I was a KDE user all over the place up till when KDE 4 came around, what was it? 2 years ago? KDE 4 was and amazingly still is - a disaster. KDE 3 was so much more configurable, stable, easier, much better than gnome but KDE4 totally changed this. I have no choice but gnome now... :-(

I've forgotten how snappy and responsive KDE3 was. It's a shame that the KDE4 team can't seem to get their shit together.
