This is supposed to sound like a John McLaughlin / Carlos Santana duel with John on one side and Carlos on the other (if heard in true stereo).

This is a video of one of my demos. I thought i'd edit together clips from here and there into videos to go along with some of my demos, rather than just the sound. Since people often have a limited attention span, thus a video may lure them into listening for longer.

The track is A LOVE SUPREME written by John Coltrane and originally performed by John Coltrane and later by Carlos Santana & Mahavishnu John McLaughlin. It is based on the Santana / McLaughlin arrangement and inspired by the licks of those two guitarists.

If listening in stereo you can hear John influenced licks on one side and Carlos Influenced licks on the other.

How have I missed this one ? I'm very impressed, and I did witness Devadip and Mahavishnu doing this live back when music was real. Now Carlos has evolved into playing with Justin Beiber ??!!! I don't get it either. What equipment were you using ? The Santana tone sounds much like the Les Paul and Boogie combo he used back then. If you ever need a bass player, Doug Rauch is still my #1 influence. Thanks and great job !!

@jimdep1 Yeah it's beyond belief that it can come to that. Wow really? You actually saw the gigs from that tour?! Good guess, or rather good ear. It's exactly a Gibson Les Paul Custom through a Mesa Boogie Mark I..!! On both sides. I just adjusted my touch/attack to change the tone from Santana to McLaughlin, same gear rig. Hahah where are you? Doug Rauch is one of, if not my favorite bassist!
