@BlueBig22 The lead loco is a GE wide cab( North American safety cab) where as the locomotive behind it has a spartan cab that was standard until the late 1980s.
The easiest way to tell a GE from a EMD locomotive is the GEs have wings on the rear that enclose the radiators where the EMDs are either flat or have V shaped radiators on the SD70 and later locomotives.

@JetMechMA yes some do have to slow down, the head units though can spray sand for traction on the wheels.

Can someone help me??? I am not a huge train expert so are there names for the different style of locomotive types??? like does the locomotive at 0:03 have a different name of that style compared to the locomotive behind it???

@JetMechMA sometimes, but not usually. they have snowplows that break light snow on the tracks and either they have sand for traction or the weight breaks the icy rails.
