The Fremantle Anti-Nuclear Group (FANG) rallied 80 people to protest against the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington and guided missile cruiser USS Cowpens anchored off Fremantle in Western Australia. Veteran peace activist Jo Vallentine was arrested for peacefully protesting.

A former Greens senator, Jo Vallentine has spent her life campaigning for social justice, peace and environmental issues. She has been involved in peace and anti-nuclear protests around the world.

This year the nuclear free movement in Western Australia will be ramping up the campaign as the state government move to open the door to uranium mining in the state.

  • @four4vizslas Actually england has been most help to Australia :)

  • wtf you pussys fucking jump on then dog cop heads FUCK

  • WTF? Whats wrong with CVN's? Its more effeicient and Talisman Sabre is great for interoperability bewteen Aus and US. And since when do 80 people have an influence on the most powerful country in the world?

All I heard out of this was that she didnt like US warships and Talisman Sabre. She didnt bring up any negative points (if any) about the Joint operation.

Why dont they complain about something else like......global warming? I ignore people like that.

  • well hairy you have sure showed us all how to be respectful haven't you!???

  • WHY DID THEY ARREST HER?

DO AUSTRALIANS HAVE THE ABILITY TO: - Peacefully demonstrate - Have the right to assemble in public - GET A ' PERMIT ' to schedule protest

    Good Luck

    P.S.

The U.S. helped Australia to be what it is now. The United States has certainly been working well with Australia. I do not think that Australia would have the means to respond to a 9/11 type of event without the U.S.A.

The purpose of working TOGETHER is STRENGTH.

  • I was out on the town when the sailors were here, and it was an honor to shout them a few beers and shake their hands.

Great people, and I welcome them here anytime.

on the other hand, it looks as if I'll need to take a bat down to the moles next time to knock a little respect into these stupid fucking hippy assholes.

It ashame that the first glimpse of Australia for many of these sailors are the twisted fuck-wads of fremantle.

  • You pussies

  • You Luddites are a waste of Oxygen..

Go live in a tree somewhere..

  • Police: sure, do your job, but let civilians do theirs: the right to protest against probable WMDs visiting their home towns.

Nuclear vessels are internationally tracked nuclear targets. I think you'll find by far most voters would be opposed to this situation, if they only understood. This is not some 'finge'/leftist issue.

    Kudos, Jo & all.
