Slingbox demo on Treo 700w

Your watching a demo of my DirecTV/Tivo R10 DVR being streamed on my Verizon Treo 700w cell phone. With this setup I can watch live TV or my DVR recordings ANYWHERE!

I agree. WiFi sucks anymore. EVDO works on almost all cell towers. I get internet all the way form Phoenix to Tucson. A TWO HOUR DRIVE! WiFi can't do that shit!!!! I liek to stream music. In fact, FM radio don't even work that entire drive!

without looking it up, I assume that that's some kind of free wifi service (or at least cheap).

But the fact of the matter is, here in the US, we don't have that, so using slingbox through the cell phone provider allows me to do that. And it's ANYWHERE I get cellphone service.... I was on top of a mountain in Albuquerque, and I got espn....

So thats pretty neat that you get to use it in many places... but is it everywhere you get a cell phone signal?

Yes on '3' network in the UK, you CAN watch it in the car/on a bus/in afield/in a foirest preserve - with near total coverage of the UK, just about anywhere!! They even allow for up to 80 hours usage of the Slingbox per month... :)

no, your PSO cannot do that too.

With the Treo, You can connect to it anywhere where you get cell phone service....

Similarly stated, it's not limited to somewhere where you have a wifi network.
