@ravago1989 O.k so what's new? Most,if not all,nations on the face of this earth have commited some form of genocide or mass slaughter,during their history. The Brittish did it,the Americans are doing it,the Spanish did it, the Jews are genociding the Palaistinians even as we speak and the list goes on and on.So why should the Germans be an Exception? We as a species evolved in a very competitive enviroment and therefore the will to dominate and control is part of our nature.

@ravago1989 You only see it from your own country's perspective. Some of the things he did was great for his country. And killing their prisoners was great for economy.

@ravago1989 Any judgements based on morality are always subjective because they stem from personal and local-social beliefs.That is the reason i refrain from labeling genocides either good or bad and those who commit them as well.To me there is only conflict of interests as dictated by our natural need for control and whoever wins gets the chance to determine the definition of morality.

@ravago1989 Yes you can make a moral judjment but only according to how you define morality.So ,for example,lets say that to you genocide might be an affront to God but to me might be a natural process by which nature weeds out the weak.In that case you would view me as a monster,according to your moral code, and i as a naive weakling,according to mine.Then,if we have conflicting interests, we go to war and the ideology of whoever wins becomes dominant thus shaping the future.

@Yperkeimenos You describe morality as a relative concept, that changes through history. This is true. It also proves that mankind has always tried to be something more than its instincts, a moral code was needed to organize a complex society. But this has nothing to do with the fact that the current morals of western society, with his human rights are not compatible with genocide. i do not deny the reality of men's dominant nature, but this doesn't mean I can't make a moral judgment about it

@ravago1989 In ancient Sparta slavery was acceptable but that didn't stop the spartans from being brave sophisticated warriors. Morality is a point of view and it would be best to start vewing genocides from a political stand point rather than a moral one.Genocides occur as a means to an end and that end is dominance and control, as dictated by our nature.Perhaps in a distant future, through evolution ,we will change our nature and become angels of morality but as it is we are not.

@ravago1989 And who's to say what is moral or not? You,me,God? The truth of the matter is that morality as a concept has a different meaning depending on the society it addresses. To a canniballistic society eating you is completely acceptable and moral. So you see we may not like it but are bound by our nature and to change it is to be human no longer, as by altering the nature of something it becomes something else entirely.

@Yperkeimenosthat's exactly the same false argument hitler used. because it's natural doesn't mean it's ok! mankind has created some moral values that restrain our instincts and separate us from the animals. Secondly, any atrocity committed against a group of people is despicable so fact is, all genocides must be condemned in the same way as German WWII crimes.
