Full HD footage of Ryanair 737-8AS (Registration : EI-EFA ; Serial No. 35005 LN:2892) passing overhead and landing on runway 17 at Cork Airport, Ireland.

This Ryanair flight was inbound from London Gatwick Airport, England. It's callsign was "Ryanair Five Kilo Uniform" as you will hear it referred to in the ATC audio in the clip.

This Ryanair 737 was delivered to them from Boeing on 07/05/2009 and is powered by two CFMI CFM56-7B26 engines.

Subsequent to the Ryanair landing and vacating the runway an Aer Lingus A320-214 (Registration : EI-DVH; Serial No. : 3345) lines up and departs for Rome Fiumcino Airport, Italy. It's callsign was "Shamrock Eight Zero Echo" as you will hear it referred to in the ATC audio in the video.

This Aer Lingus A320 was delivered to them from Airbus on 14/12/2007. Like all Aer Lingus aircraft it is named after an Irish saint. This aircraft is called the "St. Ciara". It is powered by two CFMI CFM56-5B4/P engines.

Some interesting things to look out for in this clip are the wake vortex contrails which the Ryanair 737 trails off its wings on final approach. Also the Ryanair landing is quite firm and the spoilers are deployed very quickly. It's also nice to look at the rudder action on the Aer Lingus A320 as she starts her takeoff roll.

  • why did they turn off the approach lights a 2:28? were they changing the active runway?

  • @MrRockoutLoud Because arrivals are not very frequent here they turn them off if there is not going to be another arrival for while. Presumably to save money on electricity. No need for landing lights if nothing is landing :)

  • LOL at 02:37, it's the Ryanair version of Jaws! ha :p

  • @TheHappyChap101 Ha ha, very good. I like it :)
