Let me tell you something about walmart bikes. They book nice but you find out eventually that your wheels come out of true and all the components are crap. That's what you get at walmart is a basic bike.

i have the same kinda bike but i have a hard time getting up hills. I also had to add headlight and rear lights.

Good start. I started with a simular bike and 1 mile to work. Now, with money I saved, I have a good bike and my ride is up to 8 miles. After a year or two you will not believe you are the same person.... : )
