Sobre a Série
Série de 6 vídeos curtinhos que oferece um panorama da produção dos realizadores indígenas de várias partes do Brasil, e resume o momento atual do projeto Vídeo nas Aldeias. Os vídeos também exemplificam o amplo leque das temáticas abordadas pelos realizadores indígenas: de histórias tradicionais contadas pelos mais velhos, a práticas cotidianas das aldeias, passando pela relação com os recursos naturais, estratégias de sustentabilidade, e relação com o mundo de fora, até intercâmbios culturais. Dos vídeos, "A gente luta mas come fruta: trailer" (Ashaninka) e "Nós e a cidade" (Mbya-Guarani), são releituras resumidas de filmes anteriores, "Bimi: Mestra de Kenes" (Hunikui), e "Troca de Olhares" (Hunikui/Ashaninka) são prévias de trabalhos a serem lançados futuramente, com enfoques diferentes, já "A História do Monstro Kátpy" (Kisêdjê), e "Kidene: Academia Kuikuro", são obras originais no seu formato final. Todos os vídeos foram editados num encontro de realizadores indígenas ocorrido em Agosto de 2009 na sede do Vídeo nas Aldeias, em Olinda, com o apoio do Programa Ponto Brasil, da TV Brasil, que veiculará os curtas num especial Vídeo nas Aldeias.

Please activate the SUBTITLES! On the Video Player window, click on the lower right hand button ( the upwards arrow). Two new buttons will appear, click on the bottom one ("cc") to active the captions (active = red), then hover over the left arrow besides this button, and choose "English". Once you make the language choice, the subtitles will automatically appear on the other videos. You can also "turn off annotations" on the that same little menu, so that the instructions don't appear anymore.

Bimi, Kene Master
A short portrait of the a master in the arts of the Kene - the traditional designs of the Hunikui people. By Zezinho Yube. With support from IPHAN - The Institute of the Historical and Artistic National Patrimony. This is a result of audiovisual formation workshops for indigenous peoples, within the Video in the Villages project. Edited in a short films editing workshop, with the support of the Ponto Brasil Program, from TV Brasil, that will broadcast a special program with Video in the Villages shorts. About the Series:
Series of 6 short videos that offers a panorama of the production by indigenous filmmakers from various parts of Brazil, and summarizes the present moment of the Video in the Villages project. The videos are also an example of the wide variety of issues taken up by indigenous filmmakers today: from traditional stories told by elders, to daily life in the villages; from the relationship with natural resources and strategies for sustainability, to the constant contact with the outside world, and cultural exchanges. From these videos, "We struggle but we eat fruit: Trailer" (Ashaninka) and "Us and the City" (Mbya-Guarani) are reformulations of previous films, "Bimi: Kene Master" (Hunikui), and "Exchange of Views" (Hunikui/Ashaninka) are previews of works still to be released, with different approaches, and "The Story of the Monster Kátpy" (Kisêdjê) and "Kidene: Kikuro Gymnasium" (Kuikuro) are original pieces in their final format. All of these videos were edited in an encounter of indigenous filmmakers that took place in August 2009 at the Main Offices of Video in the Villages, in Olinda, with the support of the Ponto Brasil Program, from TV Brasil, that is broadcasting the shorts in a special edition dedicated to Video in the Villages.
