There is a need for the program. Necessary? That's YOUR word, not mine.

So they want to remove the help these programs provide because of corruption..............but then don't want to address the problem these programs are helping to solve. That is not compassionate.

It would be like me claiming that we should get rid of charities because they are corrupt without offering to help the poor that these charities provide.

He will probably make a few votes that could anger weak-minded libertarians who can't see the bigger picture. He'll HAVE to make those votes to avoid being taken out. For instance the sanctions vote he made, it was purely symbolic, he filibustered when he had a chance of stopping it, but once it ALREADY passed he threw his vote on top to cover himself so he can't be called "anti-israel".

Some weak-minded libertarians then yell traitor and can't see what it takes to win over the mainstream.

As yet Rand is great at playing with the fire. He understands how to appeal to every potential group of voters, to the establishment of his party and the democrats. Of course he will see himself forced to compromise in a few ways to do so, and if he´s as intelligent as I think he is, he may manage that without compromising the principle of freedom. But the light at the end of the tunnel will come out as a train, if he doesn´t win.

Unfortunately Rand will vote in a few ways that may displease some hardcore libertarians, in order to avoid vulnerabilities that would make it impossible to win the nomination.

Personally, I'm done with the message, it's time to WIN the Presidency and actually change things. Time is not on our side. If Rand fails in 2016, it's over for liberty, period. Heck, it already may be too late. The establishment will make it's final move in the near future. I fled the USA, years back. Best choice ever.
