Phew! We made it. The decade of hanging chads, Enron and WorldCom, 9/11, Paris Hilton, elusive WMD, Katrina, Real Housewives, mortgage-backed delusions, Bernie Madoff, starving journos, Client No. 9, and bursting bubbles of all kinds is finally over (and we thought we only had Y2K to worry about!). So dont be bummed the holidays will be over or that $1000 invested in a Nasdaq index fund on 1/1/00 would now be worth some 500 bucks -- pick up your shovel and join the New America Foundation in burying the aughts.
All those wars are a microcosm of the American "democratic" way - go for it, and it will financially benefit a select group enormously.

the financial journo has to be the most clueless person to ever take part in such a podium.
