Shot in Jakarta & Bali in 12 days.
In Jakarta I was in one of the worst floods they'd experienced in 10 years. Children swimming in the street, no power & house fires...
In Bali I visited many tourist sights -- and took very little video there. The traditional Balinese dance with live Gamelan (music) was wicked.
The monkey forest, the rice fields & finally the trip on the ocean to find the Endangered Green Sea Turtles...In all their majesty.
Finally on the very last day we took our bikes out and climbed a volcano in the early morning.
I was able to compile an entire segment from that single day of climbing (cutting out a lot, actually!)
This is what Baraka might've been like if it'd been a solo project... :)
I hope that this video will count for something seeing as documentary filmmaking is almost surely my niche.
Vast diverse dimensions! I love the tradional music from the ceremony, incorporated into the preceding scenes. The "stop HIV" demonstration from previous edits is not missed. Inspiring!
