The men behind the eclectic Captain Beefheart keep his music alive and no better example is that of their renowned concerts at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire which were recorded and preserved for this presentation. The music from the good Captain is not for the faint of heart and these players are each very special musicians indeed to be able to bring his brilliant compositions to life. While the Captain will never join them again, his grand contributions are here for current and future generations to discover and be amazed.

@gnowave Don's style was modelled on Howling Wolf, he & Zappa were both influenced by him, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Johnny Guitar Watson...All the old favourites :D

Thanks Cosmic. Gnowave, this gig is from 2003. I saw them in Manchester on that tour and again a year later in Manchester again. Them 2 gigs were the best i've seen. They split up soon after that but it was because they were owed money by promoters. The good news is they've reformed and are doing a short tour in December.
