In 2004, the revolutionary production company, I'm Ready Productions, adapted the widely popular best-selling novel Friends and Lovers, for the stage and ventured out on tour. The tour received great success and has led to a second cycle which kicks off in February 2005.

What happens when friends cross the line and become lovers? Lies fly, emotions erupt, and the stage is set for a totally uncensored, hilarious, and outrageously entertaining adventure in seduction, betrayal, heartbreak, revenge, and oh-so-sweet true love. Shelby Daniels (Stacy Francis) and her best friend Debra Mitchell (Monica Calhoun) have just gotten off the sex-before-marriage merry-go-round with men. Each has gone looking for love, found love, lost love, and at this point, sworn off men forever-- until Debra meets Leonard DuBois, an aspiring stand-up comedian who tries to laugh his way into her heart.

The dangerously thin line between friendship and love is explored in this sizzling, highly entertaining drama, based on the popular novel by Eric Jerome Dickey. Shelby and Debra are two young woman sick of the dating scene and looking for true love, who soon find themselves in a complicated morass of lies, emotions, and difficult decisions as they struggle to balance love, loyalty, and faith. The impressive cast includes Leon, Miguel Nunez, Monica Calhoun, Mel Jackson, Arnez J, Stacy Francis, and Maia Campbell.

I got the play off Amazon, It was part of my DVD collection at Uni. I got 8 beats out of the 10 times I watched this DVD with 10 different female FRIENDS of mine, non of the LOVERS tho!
