standardization takes away from innovation, which is what we should want if we want to continue progressing intellectually as a species

its not about the money, its about the demands of governments imposed upon school districts to raise standardized test scores--maybe if young children were grouped by mental capacity for learning rather than age, states wouldn't demand cutoff scores on tests, teachers wouldn't be force feeding information to students in order to keep their livelihood, and children would WANT TO LEARN and be in an academic environment surrounded by others with similar intellectual abilities.
