I'm worried that the religious elements of the Republican Party would reject objectivism since Ayn Rand opposed faith and mysticism.
The religious right may be in its death throes but you never know.

Word of mouth. The internet. Social networking. Individual-to-individual communication.
They control most of the media. Although it has gotten better with libertarian TYPES like judge Napolitano, Beck, Dobbs, John Stossel, etc. Even with their mass marketing, the majority of Americans STILL haven't caught on to these ideas.
My GUESS is the extreme psychological hold that taboos have, peer pressure, conformity, etc. have on most people squashes dissent from within our own heads.

Norway had capitalism for a very long time, and got very wealthy. under its new system, it has just about treaded water.
the socialism hasn't created the wealth.
