I bought the book with this arrangement years back in Japan, simply because I wanted this famous Francis Lai soundtrack. I didn't even examine the actual score till weeks later. Imagine my shock when the Madri Gras beat came on.

Still, I have to say certain parts of the arrangement are refreshing. Especially the Saxophone parts. Hope it is not too "different" for those who loved the original song.

And there's still a lot of unsync towards the end.... : (

DETAILS:
Composer: Francis Lai
Book: Popular No. 34, Cafe
Arrangement: 倉沢大樹
Yamaha Grade 5-4
Main instruments used: Jazz Organ, Tenor Saxophones

* Re-recorded the audio and reuploaded. But it didn't really solve the overloaded issue. : (

  • Wow there's alot of feeling while playing this piece, i'm listening it with my eyes closed and i can hear and feel everything,

was the book published in the 70's ? it has a late 70's early 80's flare, and i'm not talking about the rythm but the style and sound.

    very nice

  • Hi! Thanks for your comment.

Actually, the score was published just a few years ago. The book it's from is a collection of new arrangements of 60s/70s hits. : )

  • Cool! I've never heard it played like that. Im used to playing the Bossa Nova version. I like it! well done!
