Scarlet tugged at her bracelet.
Robby had given it to her years ago. It wasn't red like everything else she owned. People always got her red things because of her name. She didn't particularly dislike the color, but her favorite color for the last few years had been blue. Like Robby's eyes.
It was a pretty thing, encrusted with sapphires set in silver. Robby had spent six months earning for it in anticipation for her birthday. He had remembered the tiny detail of her favorite color and how she didn't like gold. It was a thoughtful, beautiful, expensive gift. Yet for some reason, this didn't sit well with Scarlet.
It was probably because of the shirt.
The year before, Anna's birthday had come around and Robby had given her a McFly shirt, Anna's favorite band. It was hard finding merchandise in America because they were a British band and never toured in the States. She had been overjoyed. That same afternoon he gave Scarlet a necklace to match her sapphire bracelet.
Why did Robby feel as if he had to spend so much money on her? Why couldn't he get her a simple gift that showed how much he listened to her?
Why was he falling in love with somebody else?
