@oiuyuioiuyuio I would have to agree. FWIW, I believe he wrecked his voice by trying to sing too loud while adding grit, or that cool raspiness to his singing, typical of the Awake album era.

James sings insanely good here!

@oiuyuioiuyuio I guess it is definitely possible. Have you ever thrown up? Remember the strain on your throat? If vomitting is really violent I think it could through the pressure of blood, muscle action etc. damage your vocal cords. To make a parallel- altitude climbers often suffer rib fractures from violent coughing. Strain on those bones imposed by lungs, muscles, diaphragm is just too much. Hence the shrimp story is for me completely believable.

@oiuyuioiuyuio The official biography says so, so i will believe what it says ;)
-
@oiuyuioiuyuio Hmm, the wiki article says otherwise. So what happened really?

@MeenToss read my other comment here.

@FnejK actually, thats complete bullshit. you cant start to sing badly cos you threw up, the vomit or food NEVER goes into the larynx and therefore NEVER touches the vocal cords...otherwise we would die inmediatly from asphyxia. so u get an idea, even a minuscule drop of saliva makes as cough like crazy.

WHY DID YOU EAT THAT SHRIMP JAMES??!?!!!!!!!????
-
LaBrie's food poisoning is deffinatly one of the saddest moments in rock history :/
-
this was LaBrie in his prime. he's definitely lost some of his range, but he is still my favorite singer
wish he could hit those notes today
