Somehow I have still managed to keep my facebook to 200 friends. Its still mostly people I know from High School in University. Although, I am hardly ever on it

I bet that has a lot to do with it. It seems that people find you when you comment on other people's pictures, walls, and the like.

What you're saying Facebook says about society was evident from "celebrity culture" long before Facebook existed: nosiness, voyeurism, exhibitionism, the unnecessary interest in other people's lives. It's just that now, we're able to do this stuff with our friends, not just famous people.
