As a Brazilian, this saddens me a lot. It is not the first time an artist criticises something through his art. When our country went through dictatorship we had many musicians who composed their songs based on how the country was, and most of their best works were censored. Based on this video I can tell that nowadays it's kinda the same, the difference being they don't censor now, they just ignore or pretend not to care. I honestly don't know what's worse.

It is only a crime if the graffiti is permanent and would have to be painted over. This is not criminal just like drawing on the street with chalk

I think his art served its double fold purposes. His art not only got noticed and delivered messages, but also made the city clean the dirty wall. Some artists know that things are neither absolute nor permanent. Some artists enjoy the action of creating. His art definitely effected changes. Congrats :-)

I would presume because that is the law? If you ask other way, "should someone get fined for spraypainting a heart", then I would answer that that depends purely on -where- the heart is spraypainted.
