i have built an animatronic mechanism to move the eyes of an old 1970s
ventriloquist dummy called mr parlanchin (this one was affectionately
called Parji )untill i took his head off to build this ,im going to
get the mouth and neck working also and then use it in a vid for some
scary and dark electronic music im going to make using some music
software ....so watch this space.....All comments are greatly
appreciated ...but bare in mind this is a very rough prototype and i
had very limited space to work with as it all had to fit inside the
head (and the head isnt that big, believe me )
AHH last thing is there is actually 4 servos on this mechanism ,the 2 needed for controlling the eye movements 1 for the eyelids and the 4th which is right underneath everything is for the mouth but is not yet rigged to move it......This isnt the simplest this mechanism could have been but i had to work with the original eyes which made it problematic and i had to work around them ,rather than inside them ,ie universal joint..

  • @caberet that, I say to me?

  • hello sell these dolls?. am from Argentina, I want one, you guns?

  • cool!

  • Just his eyes moving makes it seem as if his whole face and expression are moving too. Neat!

  • @darklab5 cant wait to see when you do! .... my friend has now bought two of them off ebay now! If theres a shortage of them I'm going to blame him! I'm desperate to find a 'peter patter' though, he was even more manic looking ( I had the black haired one) was more cheaply made but by same maker, Cremeal. I think your really clever anyway, you can freak a lot of people out with an anamatronic type Parlanchin ;|)

  • @caberet Not done the neck yet ,though its actually laid out in my workshop with all the gear i need to do it...I Just get sidetracked by other stuff(often) ;)
