Elicia, Watching this video almost two years after your first performance on the show still gives me shivers...You broke out of the gate right from the start. You were wonderful in Sound of Music, won the Dora Award for your performance, and now have won the lead role in Rock of Ages. So deserving of your success, it couldn't have happened to a sweeter person. Congratulations C & L & A

If they're not careful, this show will end up as "A Canadian Idol look-like", rather than a musical theatre show. Why do I say that? Because the format of the show screams "Canadian Idol". So unless they plan on re-writing the whole "Sound of Music" musical, some of these songs test singing ability, but not acting or dancing ability.
Also, it's never clear whether the dance moves to dictated to them behind the scenes, or whether it was their idea or not. I hope the judges know what they're at!

She sang this song really well, but I just can't picture her as Maria. Not yet, anyway...

it may be the same format but it's refreshingly tasteful ... a set that isn't gaudy and cheap - a well behaved audience ... if only we could (still) be like that in the uk

Best so far! That was really good. I think she should go far in this competition with that performance alone.
