COVER: Bonkers // Dizzee Rascal (Long Version)

I've always liked the idea of taking a song that is relatively high on the BPM, and turning it into something altogether softer and slower. So I've begun my journey here with Dizzee Rascal's 'Bonkers'. If you are unfamiliar with the original, please have a listen to that too at some point.

The notes from the synth riff that began the original track became the building blocks for a cello score; then everything else just built up on top of that.

I took most, though not all, of the original's lyrics - leaving out, you'll notice, the titular word, simply because it sounds... well... bonkers, in an arrangement like this. The vocals begin about a minute in to the track, then dip out for a little while, before returning.

The video was hastily put together, just so that something is going on whilst the tune plays away - there's nothing worse than a blank screen. It is simply a few elements of the original version's video, spliced together and slowed down. Nothing too ambitious.

I don't deny it's all a bit amateurish: progressive orchestration is nothing original. But this is my first attempt and I had fun doing it. I hope someone out there enjoys it :)

I intend to do a shorter version at some stage, as I feel it currently takes too long to get to the vocals.
