Dutch boarding team ambushed by Somali pirates, firefight ensues

The marine/sailor boarding party was apparently ambushed, with the pirates opening up on the RHIBs at close range..the firefight resulted in two somali pirates killed, 16 captured and 16 Iranian sailors being freed. No info about casualties on our side, assumed none wounded.

How much money is spent fighting these useless pirates, they don't even look like proper pirates, where is the parrott and skull and cross bones, modern day tactics... nuke em from a sub... just for fun, uses them for millitary target practice... lets see how many pirates want to play then.

I can empathise with what you've gone through so I'm not going to argue any longer, but since you've retired maybe you can look at it from their point of view? At least in the U.S. when the authorities impose a "catch-and-release" rule on fish the populations tend to sustain and eventually increase. When governments practice catch-and-release tactics on pirates their population is bound to explode as well. Especially, if you sink their $500 boat and but they are working off the millions in ransom money- it makes no sense when a .15 cents bullet will take care of the problem.
