  • @MuseDuCafe Are you sure the Bartok piece is a fugue and not simply a canon?

  • @petezilla Yep, double and inverted, and beyond the technicality, just downright beautiful. I think this and the first movement of the Bartok Music for strings, percussion and celesta are 'the' two great fugues of the 20th century, the Bartok also gorgeous.

  • well, isn't that one of the coolest fugues ever written.

  • I'm using this for drama coursework to signal the end of each act... This is so perfect.

  • rougher and more vulnerable sounding than the Karajan-both are valid.
