No fim do jogo, torcedores corintianos pediram a demissão do técnico Tite.

Santos sealed a fantastic 3-1 win over their Sao Paulo rivals Corinthians, in a match which was marred by crowd trouble.
The two Sao Paulo giants playing each other is one of the most anticipated games in the Brazilian Campeonato. And with the ingredients of Corinthians challenging the title and Neymar, the long-term Barcelona and Real Madrid target, it was sure to be a special ocassion.

The game's opening stages didn't disappoint with Neymar almost creating the first goal of the match within the first minute. He was able to get down the right and cross for Danilo who was free in the penlaty area but the Corinthian defence cleared.

Both sides struggled to keep mistakes out of their play but it was the home side who began to settle quicker. This was shown when on the 12th minute, Corinthians got the breakthough. With good play from Emerson and Alessandro, Leo went down the left and was able to find a low cross which evaded the defence and Liedson controlled, and finished.

It brought the game to life, and woke up the away side as they could have scored less than a minute later. Neymar took the corner and found Edu Dracana who rose highest and headed well towards goal, but Julius Caesar saved brilliantly.

Santos continued to react well to falling behind and this time, Danilo crossed from the right and Alan Kardec took advantage of poor defending from the home side to head towards goal, but Caesar got down to his right and saved well.

The derby had a carnival atmosphere in the stands of the Pacembu, and this was almost turned up further when Liedson's long range effort hit the bar on the 23rd minute.

The first half continued at great pace but the game was marred with Santos fans clashing with Police inside the ground. They would soon be distracted with that battle though as Santos finally made their pressure tell. Neymar's corner from the right seemingly went through everyone until it fell to Henrique who was able to slot it low into the right corner.

When the teams came out after half-time, Santos continued to impress with Neymar and Borges looking dangerous and the Corinthians defence struggling to deal with their movement.

And it was Borges who gave Santos the lead on the 53rd minute. Kardec was able to find a yard of space on the right and he crossed between the Corinthians defence for Borges to creep in and slot home of the left post. This sparked wild celebrations from the Santos support who had forgot about their own battle with the Police.
Santos was able to dominate with them particulary looking dangerous on the counter-attack but the task of winning the game was made more difficult when Henrique was sent off.
However, the home side struggled to make the extra men count with Emerson and Alex ineffective against the strong Santos backline.

The win was sealed ten minutes from time with an own goal from Chicao as Kardec's cross, which was meant for the brilliant Neymar, was turned in by the defender after confusion between him and the keeper Caesar.

Corinthians fans began to turn on their team as it became clear they wouldn't go to the top of the league. Further misery was heaped on the home side when Alex suffered a nasty head collison at the end of the game, and was taken to hospital.

Santos, on the other hand, look like they have turned a corner and could even pull off a late dash for the top five.
