@TheeAntiChrist2013 That does seem to be a common perception. Every time I see my mom she makes some remark about how it looks like I have things living in it. I don't really mind that some people dislike the beard because I'm keeping it regardless. It still struck me as odd, though, that as soon as I cut my hair it seemed like "shave the beard" comments started coming out of the woodwork.
And that's an interesting way you came to be bearded. I guess life is just filled with little surprises.
@Volvandese in my case, I thought body hair was "dirty", being taught "clean shaven" "clean cut" is the norm just made my mind think negative against hair without even knowing the reason
it was a accident that I grew my beard in the first place, I hurt my back so bad I couldnt move for a couple of months and by the time I cared about how I looked I realize I would never shave again
@TheeAntiChrist2013 Weird indeed. I still can't figure out why so many people react so strangely to a guy having hair on his face.
And I was planning on going for long hair to match the beard, but instead of hanging down my hair just gets puffy, so it bugged me enough that I buzzed it.
it just proves how easy its for people to be shocked..
I have long hair and a beard.. and I dont want to be a hypocrite but I did the same thing when I had a one track mind about beards, but I get looks like people never saw hair before..
I grew my first beard at the age of 32 its been growing for 3-6 months, trimmed it up a few times but I dont see myself ever shaving again
