My Great Grandfather served with the Fusiliers at Gallipoli and in the Middle East, he was one of the last junior officers remaining with his unit in Gallipoli after continued Turkish assualts. He won the Military Cross for bravery and eventually commanded a brigade of the Indian Army in WW2 in Burma. He was sadly killed by an American Jeep at the end of the war in 1945.
