This presentation discusses how the University of North Alabama implemented new technologies and how these new technologies were received by faculty and students. Hiring a new director last year renewed interest in moving beyond traditional delivery of services and resources through the use of technology, leading to several new initiatives. As an EBSCO partner, we have implemented the EBSCO Discovery product. Creation of a mobile site and a social media presence put library services and resources where users are -- their smart phones and mobile devices. SpringShare's LibGuides are replacing print library pathfinders. While the library was behind on adding this tool, implementation of this product led to the purchase of SpringShare's CampusGuides. This product is similar to LibGuides but provides several enhancements, including the availability of authentication controls and integration of electronic reserves. Use of widgets, QR codes, and blogs increased visibility and accessibly of existing library resources.
