Great rendition of The Wayward Wind, released in the U.S. in 1963 on VeeJay 499, it only managed to get to 104 on the Billboard charts, I have no idea why it ranked so low as it's a great version. I hope you guys and gals like it as much as I do. Please feel free to comment.

  • This song was played at my Grandad's funeral, so it means alot to me. He died from cancer about 10 years ago when I was about 16. I borrowed a CD and learned this song, which I sang infront of family members on my 21st birthday ( after several drinks of course!) I am now 26 and still know every word! This song will always remind me of him, and we miss him dearly. XXXXXX

  • @jsjihendo Thanks for commenting, glad I could post it for others to hear.

  • IMO, Similar to John Rowles later in the 60s insomuch both Top Class singers/entertainers who I dont think were appreciated as much as they should have been at the time.

Both performing as good as ever.

Songs that stand the test of time.

  • @dw69ful Thanks for comenting, I'm not familiar with John Rowles, I'll have to check him out.

  • Great version of the Wayward Wind.

Frank excelled with it - at the time it was released in England, all we 'whipper-snappers' were enamoured with it!

    Thnaks.

  • @tgc6266 This version and the version by Gogi Grant are both excellent. You juts have to love Frank's delivery on this one.

  • Sexy voice if ever there was one!

  • @01musicfan John Rowles, from New Zealand, had some great songs: 'If I only Had Time', 'Cheryl Moana Marie', etc. ... but his styling and voice may have been seen as some kinf of take on Tom Jones' style at the time.

    Terrific male voice nevertheless :)

  • @01musicfan Actually this song was #1 in Uk in 62 or 63!

In fact, Frank had no less than four #1's in UK during 1962 and 1963.

He had 3 in a row, which I believe had not been previously achieved at the time!

  • @jsjihendo that`s beautiful to read..keep singing it darlin..it is a song that is close to my heart

  • you just cant but to listen to this man him and slim whitman should have done a duet together

  • aS THE NEXT OF KIN TO THE WAYWARD WIND i Have to say That this song rocks!

  • this reminds me of the summer of 56, when my mother was on a trip to the States to visit my father , who was a chief-engineer. I was then 7 years old, I still adore the song .....
