I have never played AC but I have to give props to the developers for coming up with this. Even something simple like this could breath new life into a game that - by most standards of computer gaming - is ancient.

I have given thought to picking up AC but my main concern is I'll be starting from scratch. Will I find other low level players to team up with? Usually mature games like AC have higher level players who have moved on from the noob zones. So I don't want to find myself stuck.

@mikepalomino There is no better time to find low level players running around than now, as the introduction of the new race has many older players interested in creating new characters.

Do you know if you reduce an amuli coat down to a chest piece only, then tailor that to another chest piece, does it copy just the chest area or the entire look of the coat? I ask only cause I haven't heard of anyone mix and match the tailoring and armor reducing. I am trying to make my platemail chest piece look like an amuli coat while keeping the same armor and spells of coarse, but don't wanna do it if once you reduce the coat then tailor it, it only copies the chest...

@brandonv86 When you apply a tailored breastplate onto a reduced coat, the result will be the breastplate's look, so it'll visually look like its only covering the chest.

Old player here - this looks awful. Part of the game I loved was hunting down armor that not only looked good but was decent in battle. This is a perfect example of what I feel was the downfall of the game - hand-holding. The game became so easy that you never really felt like you accomplished anything, now you can't even have the enjoyment of collecting and agonizing over your suit of armor. Ah well, if current players like it who am I to criticize?

@mikepalomino I know this is a late reply, but I just started up from scratch again. Frostfell. Leveling to 50 is extremely simple and people still do play and there is an economy. People will help you out, it's a bit intimidating, but easy to jump back into it.
