Iconic producer, nightlife doyen and bar owner Arthur Baker has created some of the most era-defining records of the past 20 years, from working alongside hip-hop pioneer Africa Bambaataa to producing New Order and David Bowie. Back in the day, Arthurs club classics like Planet Rock were anthems at downtown New York parties at the Mudd Club and Paradise Garage where Blondie, Vincent Gallo, Keith Haring and Jean Michel Basquiat were regulars.
Now one of Londons foremost bar and nightlife venue owners, Arthur is a larger than life personality who knows more about partying than is probably good for him. We travelled to Arthurs bar and soul food restaurant, Harlem, in West London, to discover his thoughts why the 80s are back and why doing what you love is lifes true luxury
