This is a very interesting kata. I only know Asai's karate from videos, but he seems to have been quite innovative. This young many has learned well.

And what are this kibaken nidan and sandan that are upload on youtube?

They are not the Kibaken I was taught, so I assume they are the genius of Kato Sensei. You have to have huge respect for Kato Sensei as Asai Sensei's student and for his brilliance. Whilst I don't practice these kata, clearly Kato Sensei has so much to offer anyone interested in studying Asai Karate, and Shotokan in general. I'm sorry but that is the best answer I can offer you, as I don't really know. If you are interested in these kata you should consider joining Kato Sensei's organization!

Greetings from Japan Mishikus,
Sure, there is only one 'Kibaken kata' (however due to its extreme length, Asai Sensei taught it as five kata) .
Kibaken according to Asai Sensei actually has Chinese roots. It will be interesting to see if these kata are found in Chinese boxing.
I'll do an article on my blog in the future.
Kindest regards, Andre

By the way, I'm thankful to Jon Keeling who gave me a written description of Kibaken Shodan, prior to learning it directly from Asai Sensei.
He wrote it out for me and emailed me, which I really appreciated! So when I think of Kibaken, my first introduction was from Jon.
All the best, Andre
